Face rig update

I've been on a bit of a hiatus lately, but managed to get back to this project again, starting work with a tongue rig. Still very much a work in progress, but here's a quick animation to test it out.

Holy shit, that's impressive! I love all the details and nuances you've put in the shapes.

May I have a question? I assume this is a mixture of skinning and morphing, right? How did you go about authoring the morphs onto a rigged facial structure? I mean, when I dealt with making morphs for a rigged face it was a pain in the ... :)
